Breathing Space…
Hi! My name is Rogene Pejanovic, and I’m the owner of a small business called Breathing Space, based in Ridgefield, CT. I’m currently the CEO, CMO and employee of a one-woman professional organizing business that serves residential and commercial customers in Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY. I love what I do, but making this happen required a dream, the help of family and friends (such as those in the Professional Organizers Collective) and a lot of gumption.
My education includes a BA in English literature and in Economics/Business. My professional background is in commercial banking, sales and payments consulting and product/project management. In fact, I used to develop and manage financial products for small businesses. So, how did I get from there to managing a small organizing business of my own? Well,… My journey to professional organizing doesn’t seem quite so contorted when you understand my personality and strengths. Since I can remember I’ve always tried to create structure and order in the absence of such, including in my roles as a student, corporate professional, wife, mom and elder caretaker. I’ve always sought and implemented systems to manage life’s inevitable tasks in a way that gave me the space to keep doing what brought me joy. And at the heart of it all I love to create!
But creativity requires mental, emotional and physical space. So, that’s what I’ve been doing - personally from childhood and now professionally for others. I find the solutions that foster, and help eliminate barriers to, creativity. In fact, this has become a bit of a niche segment for me. Currently, three quarters of my clients are creatives in their own right. I help them organize their residential and commercial spaces to give them the room to think, create and innovate. In fact, my business is entering a new phase in which I get to flex my creative muscle even more as I leverage the interior design education I’m pursuing at the New York School of Interior Design. Now, I’m not only organizing for functionality but truly integrating these solutions into a wholistic design plan for clients who want to take it to the next level.
Why do I tell you all of this? I tell you because I truly hope it pushes you to move in the direction that suits your unique strengths and vision, be it personally, professionally or both. I hope that it helps you organize your thoughts, intentions, and maybe even your space in a way that enables you to find and pursue what brings you joy. Like me, I want you to find your breathing space!
