Spring is here and I could not be more excited!

My youngest, Gracie, is studying abroad in Barcelona this semester. I had been waiting all winter to visit her. At the end of March, my mom, my sister and myself, went to Barcelona. I had an amazing time, in a beautiful place, with my favorite people.

Here is a photo of us on day one. Gracie had the idea that we wear matching shirts. It drew more attention than I expected but was a lot of fun.

This was my first time traveling to Europe. My sister, Jody, is an expert traveler and did most of the planning for us. She is great at reading travel books, looking into day trips, and taking care of the reservations. Her organizational skills are top notch. We had everything organized for us in a shared google spreadsheet. I’m not sure she really understands just how much I appreciate the work she put into our amazing trip!

Ever since Jody and I each owned a home, we were each other’s go-to side kick for projects. We have painted many walls, built headboards and end tables, built a retaining wall (I think that’s one we will never do again). My favorite project is the wood wall (pictured here) we created above the bar in my basement.

We each bring our own skills to every project. Jody is great at math but I’m good at figuring out angles. Jody is good at planning things on paper, I like to just wing it - much to her frustration :) Most of all, we make a good team!

It was probably 8 or 9 years ago that Jody asked when I could next come to visit her in Minneapolis because she needed help organizing her basement. That is the first time that I considered the possibility of helping other people with my organizing skills. Thank you for the spark, Jody! Happy.healthy.home. just celebrated its 7th anniversary in March!
